25 Questions to Ask at a Wedding Fair

A wedding fair is the quickest way to meet a whole wedding team in one afternoon. But it's easy to come home with a goodie bag full of leaflets and very few real answers. The couples who get the most out of the day arrive with a plan and a short list of questions.

Here's what to ask, supplier by supplier, so you can compare like for like.

    Before you go

    • Book your free tickets so you're on the list for the goodie bags. At our Elite wedding fairs, the first 50 couples get one.
    • Bring your date, venue and rough guest numbers. Most suppliers can't give you a real price without them.
    • Take your phone for photos and voice notes — you'll forget who said what by the car park.
    • Bring the people who matter. A parent or best friend is a second pair of ears.

    Questions for every supplier

    1. Are you available on our date?
    2. What's included in your price, and what costs extra?
    3. How much is the deposit, and when is the balance due?
    4. Do you have public liability insurance?
    5. What happens if you're ill on the day?
    6. Have you worked at our venue before?
    7. Can we see a full wedding, not just the highlights?
    8. Is there an offer for booking at the fair — and how long does it last?

    1. How many photos or minutes of film will we receive, and how soon?
    2. Will you be the person photographing our wedding, or a member of your team?
    3. How do you handle dark venues or bad weather?
